VentureTECH Sdn Bhd has announced a strategic investment in MTC Orec Sdn Bhd, a Bumiputera company specialising in the bioenergy sector. The partnership aims to accelerate the development of MTC Orec’s biomethane plants in Malaysia’s Northern and East Coast regions, with the first biomethane project set to launch in 2025 in collaboration with a leading oil and gas player. This investment aligns with Malaysia’s renewable energy goals, aiming to reduce carbon emissions and foster sustainable growth.
MTC Orec, known for its expertise in the design, engineering, and construction of biogas facilities, has already achieved significant milestones, including developing Malaysia’s first Palm Oil Mill Effluent-based biomethane plant. The company is also expanding its operations with four additional bioenergy plants under development in Johor and the Northern region.
Ahmad Redzuan Sidek, CEO of VentureTECH, emphasised that the investment supports economic growth and environmental sustainability, creating opportunities for Bumiputera companies and local communities. He highlighted the partnership’s role in driving job creation and nurturing engineering expertise in rural areas.
Ir Dr Norshah Hafeez Shuaib, Chairman of MTC Orec, expressed confidence that the investment would enable the company to scale its operations, deliver innovative biomethane projects, and contribute to environmental preservation and rural development.
